Buying a Word

InOneWord.com allows you to buy a word and have it linked to your site. The link is done both by a visual representation on our site, and via http redirection. For instance, if you buy the word "Books" it will appear as a clickable graphics, and http://inoneword.com/books will point to your site.

The word panel is indexed by the first letter of the word, to allow easy navigation for potential visitors. A random mixture of words, selected daily, appears in a special "Mix" tab which is the entry page for our site and further increases your exposure.

We manually select the words entered to our site to assure no one buys a word that looks like yours. If you buy "Books", no one is allowed to buy "Book", "B00ks" (using zeros), "TheBook" etc. This enables you to be the only option when someone wants to buy a book.

The price for a word is $100. It is a one-time payment and will secure your word for as long as the site operates, which is a minimum of 5 years. Please read the following terms and conditions if you intend to buy a word.

Terms and Conditions

• Only single words or two-word phrases are allowed, it is not possible to buy sentences
• You may buy as many words as you like
• The link you supply must have something to do with the word you chose to buy
• You cannot buy a word that has already been bought, or similar derivatives of it such as plural/singular form and other grammtical transformations
• Words are displayed on site in blocks of 30x90 pixels. If you buy a very long word it may have to be printed in a small font to fit in
• By default we generate the graphical representation of your word in a black serif font over a white background. You may provide your own image containing your word using your font and colors. In this case:
  1. The image must be exactly 30 pixels high and 90 pixels wide
  2. The image should contain the word only, with minimum graphical elements to avoid clutter
  3. Any file format is acceptable
  4. Animated images are not allowed
• You cannot change the word or link after you make the purchase. Since it will be there for at least 5 years, you should be certain of the word and the site it links to. Extreme situations such as legal matters is the only exception
• You may request that your word be removed from our site, but there is no refund after you made the purchase
• We would like to keep the site useable by everyone. Therefore we will not accept requests to buy offensive/obscene words, or to have links to adult sites of any kind. If the content of the linked site is changed to offensive/adult content, we will disable the link without a refund
• The site is guaranteed to be online at least until Janurary 1, 2011. Our intention is to keep it up forever, we just have to write some date for legal purposes
• On the same note, hosting services tend to have occasional downtimes but they guarantee 99.95% uptime, so this is our guarantee to you
• Your word will be visible on site within 24 hours of payment
• By "buying words" we do not mean having the legal rights on words in English

3. A title for the link. Appears when hovering with the mouse pointer over your word
4. Optionally, attach an image representing your word using the guidelines given above
